The Scowcroft Series of short documentary films is designed to address timely, complex, or controversial topics in open-ended ways that encourage Cadet discussion in the classroom.
In this segment, experiences of African-Americans serving in the military are traced from World War II, through Vietnam and the Civil Rights Era, to the present day. It examines subjects such as service as a path to exercising full citizenship, and changing conditions for African-Americans in the military.
