MAJ Brad McCoy served as aide-de-camp to the US general commanding the Civilian Police Assistance Training Team in Iraq in 2005, and later commanded a company in Afghanistan. In this interview, he discusses the challenges he encountered while helping establish a viable civilian police force in Iraq and building constructive relationships with village leaders in Afghanistan.
