Bill “Blue” Lomax was born in Bolton, Lancashire, England in 1936. In 1953, he joined the British Army and volunteered for parachute training. During his three years in the military, he served around the globe in places such as Hong Kong, Cyprus, and the Suez Canal region. After leaving the military, he returned to civilian life and drove trucks for a living. In this interview, Blue talks about his childhood, living through air raids during WWII, parachute training, and his deployments around the world. He also talks about what his service means to him.
